Materials Informatics

Materials informatics is a research field that applies information-science techniques, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, to materials development. It aims to discover new principles governing material properties and to utilize them for the design of novel materials.

In our research group, these approaches are applied to crystal structure prediction using Bayesian optimization and to battery materials design using machine-learning potentials.
